Hong Kong – also known as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR). It is located in the Southern part of China, east of the Pearl River Estuary, west of the Pearl River.
Hong Kong is a highly prosperous international metropolis including Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and surrounding areas. It has a total land area of around 1100 square kilometers and with a population of around 7,400,000, one of the highest population density areas in the world.
Between 1842 and 1997, Hong Kong was a British colony. After the Second World War, Hong Kong's economy and society developed rapidly. It was one of the "Asian Four Little Dragons", and also became one of the richest, most economically developed and living standards in the world. After, 1997, the Chinese government resumed the exercise of sovereignty over Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is one of the famous international financial centers in the world and also known as the “Pearl of the Orient”. It is also a place for “East meet West”, cultures of Chinese and people from the Western blend together. It combines Chinese with Western wisdom.
